Eryri / Snowdonia Bellydance Weekend Retreat
Friday 8th to Sunday 10th August 2025
Try something different! A dance by women for women, used in helping with health, childbirth, storytelling, ceremony and strengthening those female bonds. Discover your inner female energy, celebrate your sensuality and strength.
Bellydance conjures up many images and most are far from reality. Originating from the Middle East and introduced to the West by Victorian colonising countries, who were fascinated by all things Oriental.
This weekend may dispel some of those myths and show true respect to the many varied dances and music originating from these countries. An informative and totally immersive experience to be enjoyed by the novice and experienced dancer alike. All set in an amazing location, start the day with an optional yoga session or swim in the lake. There will be a range of varied workshops by experienced dance teachers. Enjoy shopping in the Souk with beautiful costumes and clothes to tempt you, then get ready for the evening performances and party with DJ Skeik Ya Bootie bringing the latest Arabic tunes!
Residential prices (including all meals and snacks) from £285 to £325

Introducing our teachers for the weekend
Firstly meet your hostess for the event.
Ramona started her dance journey in London back in the 90's with JWAAD (Josephine Wise Academy of Arabic Dance). She also studied with Julia Brunswick of the ‘Raqs Shaki Society’ and is indebted to these very influential UK based dance movements for her lifelong obsession in Arabic dance.
Besides the joy of performance Ramona is passionate about sharing this beautiful dance form through teaching and has for many years run successful classes and workshops. The student experience matters and Ramona is dedicated to inspire, encourage and bring fun to her classes. Her dance style is emotive, graceful and covers a wide range of genres within Arabic dance.

Introducing the second of our wonderful Bellydance teachers for our retreat weekend at Trigonos.
I am pleased to announce dance teacher Marianne who has been dancing since 2001. Her style is a mixture as she is well versed in lots of different varieties of the dance. Marianne enjoys interpreting the wonderful music and it always makes her smile. She is obviously passionate about this dance form and loves that it is very accepting of all ages, shapes and sizes and most levels of fitness. She also unashamedly loves dressing up in all the glittery costumes you can wear with belly dancing. There are not many exercises where you can jingle and shake glittery shimmy belts!
It keeps all your joints moving and tones up the body whilst being aerobic and fun too, at the same time being gentle. Marianne has lived with inflammatory arthritis since a child and finds dance has helped her considerably with this condition.
Marianne ran a very popular dance class in North Devon for many years and now is an occasional dance teacher for events, festivals and workshops etc. She is a member of the dance troupe Shimmilicous and performs at many events throughout the year.

Andromeda’s dance experience began in Latin and ballroom as a teenager before a sudden transition to Middle Eastern dance in 2002. Since then she has studied Egyptian, Black Sheep group improv and fusion styles with national and international teachers. She has been teaching bellydance since 2006 and is JWAAD qualified, and has taught twice at Gothla, the UK’s gothic dance festival. Andromeda is known for her fluid and lyrical dance style.
Andromeda loves the scope that dance gives for drama, intensity and the unexpected, and is very fond of using props such as veil, assaya and finger cymbals. She also has a lifetime’s fascination with narrative technique and character development, and how to apply that to a non-verbal language. She has an Open University degree covering creative writing, literature and communication psychology, and writes historical fiction in her spare time.

Excited to introduce the 4th of our fabulous bellydance teachers for our weekend retreat, Helen.
Upon hitting 40, Helen took up belly dancing to make new friends and to explore her femininity. Her first teacher was the fabulous Ramona Crocker who is hosting this wonderful event! Little did she know how much of any impact belly dance would make on her life!
Fast forward eight years and Helen has performed alongside belly dance professionals such as Suraiya Ibrahim and Charlotte Desorgher at the One Love Party Hafla and has trained with the fabulous London based Turkish belly dance pro Tevec Ibrahim.
Helen loves upbeat styles of belly dance and music that are a perfect accompaniment for a party or celebration. She'll be making her belly dance debut at this belly dance weekend. Helen is no stranger to dance however having trained as a dance fitness instructor and has been teaching yoga for 20 years.

Helen is also our yoga teacher for the weekend, With 20 years of teaching experience having undertaken multiple Yoga Teacher Training certifications including Pregnancy Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Hatha Yoga Level 1 & 2 (Beginner & Intermediate) and Restorative Yoga.
Helen loves to take a feminine approach to traditional Yoga practises to support women throughout their life. A feminine practise utilises the tools of Yoga and adapts them to support and empower women throughout their life. Helen is a mum of 2 teenagers, lives and works in North Wales where she teaches corporate and private yoga classes as well as online classes from her home and works full time as an Environmental Scientist.

Introducing our next wonderful teacher for our Bellydance Weekend Retreat, Kath.
Kath brings a lifetime's study of dance and movement to her teaching practice, having started in ballet as a child and now a qualified Black Sheep group improvisational style teacher. Group improvisational dance fosters a strong shared experience between dancers as each performance is organic and unique, and Kath's academic background in Egyptian history makes her an enjoyable and well-informed teacher. Beyond the dancefloor, Kath is an outdoor enthusiast, climbing instructor, qualified sports massage therapist and is currently training to be a physiotherapist.

Here are a couple of compilation videos featuring all the teachers:
